British early summer flowers including peonies and allium

Dear Mrs Sinkins!

Tucked in the posies is a lovely heritage dianthus, or pink, called Mrs Sinkins. This tufty fragrant flower was created in 1968 and was supposed to be named after Queen Victoria but the grower insisted it should be named after his wife instead! We've also got new season alliums from our garden in Surrey and from a grower in Lincolnshire

It’s flush time for British flowers right now and this posy has a wide variety of ingredients, including a rose from our cutting garden. We’re having an Open Garden for British Flower Week in a couple week’s time. If you are near Bournemouth and would be interested to come along, do reserve a space.
