British grown helichrysum and asters in this summer posy of flowers

Homegrown helichrysums

Hello to the helichrysums! These late summer flowers have been grown in our cutting garden and are also known as strawflowers or everlasting flowers. They are popular as a cut flower and also handy for dried arrangements, hence the name. The word ‘helichrysum’ comes from the Greek words “helios” and “chryos”, which mean “sun” and “gold”. We’ve also included this lovely peachy Chinese aster called ‘Tower Chamois’ which is just coming out on the plot. This fashionable colour sets the tone for our posy this week.
