Do we offer letterbox flowers?

At MeadowSweet, we love British-grown seasonal flowers and we love how the varieties change throughout the year. Right now we are using Lincolnshire grown fragrant lilies, Isles of Scilly paperwhites and late sown sweet williams, and in a couple of weeks time we will be getting our hands on new season British red and white tulips, perfect for our Christmas posy bouquets in December.
We love having the choice of using big showy British blooms, such as the roselilies, alongside more dainty flowers such as the sweet williams and narcissi. If we were to send out letterbox deliveries, flower heads would need be under 1 inch thick to fit into the boxes and so larger flower heads like the roselilies could not be used.
We are professional florists and arrange your posies with care before we send them out so that, after snipping the stems, they are the perfect size for the recycled-glass jar included and are already arranged to look like the posy photos that we post. We pack the stems in an aqua-pouch so they arrive in good condition, ready to display. Letterbox flowers typically arrive dehydrated and require time and TLC before they can be assembled by the recipient, put into a suitable vase and enjoyed.
Letterbox flower deliveries were popularised by Bloom and Wild as a way to deliver to an empty house and avoid the requirement for a signature. Since the increase in doorstep deliveries, it is now commonplace to receive a tracked delivery service without the need for a signature and flowers can be left in a safe place or with a neighbour as instructed.
For the reasons above, we do not currently offer a letterbox delivery and we feel that our expertly-arranged posies are a more special gift to receive than a DIY package. Our unique seasonal flower arrangements make the perfect Christmas gift, especially for someone who appreciates sustainable, home-grown beauty. We also offer a UK-wide flower subscription service using the best of local British growers, giving your loved one a fresh reminder of how much you care, month after month, throughout the year.
