British seasonal flower posy with care instructions

Expert tips for keeping your British flowers fresh in the home

Your British seasonal flowers have been lovingly arranged and delivered straight from the flower farm to your door. Please unwrap them carefully and all our packaging is plastic-free and can be recycled or composted.

If this is your first posy (or you’re starting a subscription - welcome!), you’ll have received one of our lovely UK-made glass jars made with up to 60% recycled glass.
Fill the jar with cool water and stir in the eco flower food provided. Flower food can increase the vase life of flowers by up to 60% so it's well worth adding it as it keeps the water clean and gives the flowers an energy boost.

Using sharp scissors (ideally florist scissors or secateurs) trim 2 cm off the bottom of each stem. This step is important as it makes sure the bottom of the stems are freshly cut so, a bit like a straw, they can take up the water. Pop the flowers straight into the jar so they can enjoy a well-earned drink.

Untie the stems and gently fluff them up if needed. Place your flowers somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight, radiators and fruit bowls.

It's important to keep the water fresh and topped up. It can be surprising how much they will drink. If you make sure your flowers always have clean water to drink, they will thank you for it! If you're very keen you can also recut the stems a few days in and they will like that too.

When your flowers have seen better days, simply pop them into the compost, green waste or food waste bin. If we’re seeing you again, give your jar a scrub with warm soapy water, or pop it in the dishwasher ribbon and all, so it’s spick and span for your next delivery.
