Tasmanian mountain pepper
This plant (Tasmannia lanceolata) is a great evergreen shrub to have in the garden. It grows easily on well-drained soils, has lovely red stems and its leaves and berries are used as a spice, to flavour wasabi and as a pepper substitute. We've also got fantastic rusty red hydrangeas this week and their Autumnal 'flowers' and leaves can add a lot to the garden at this time of year.
