British grown summer flowers like scented stocks and sunflowers in glass MeadowSweet jar

What flower means 'water vessel'?

There's homegrown hydrangeas in this week's posy. As the name suggests they need lots of water, so ours have been struggling with the dry start to the summer. If you ever have cut hydrangeas that look floppy, some people sear the stems with hot water but I prefer to revive them by submerging them for a hour in a bucket full of water.  Hydrangea and sunflower happiness

What's in the posy?

Stock, eryngium, hydrangea, sunflower, perennial sweet pea, alchemilla mollis, rose-scented geranium, rosemary, lavender, quaking grass, agapanthus, clary sage, cornflower.

What's fragrant?

Stocks, rosemary, lavender and rose-scented geraniums.

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Sophie
