MeadowSweet Posies wins Gold at the New Forest and Hampshire County Show 2026

RHS Gold at the New Forest Show 2026 — Our First Time in the Flower & Garden Tent

It was our first time exhibiting in the Flower & Garden Tent at the New Forest & Hampshire County Show and we won Gold! We were at the show from 28-30th July, and couldn’t have be more thrilled to have been judged Gold by the RHS judges. Mum and I are very proud to have our growing and arranging recognised in this way and it means a great deal to us. It was lovely to meet so many visitors to the show, chatting about grow-your-own tips, introducing our British flower posy business and highlighting that most of the flowers sold in this country have travelled thousands of miles to get here - around 85% of cut flowers sold in the UK are imported from The Netherlands or via The Netherlands but grown in tropical countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Columbia and Ecuador.

We’ve picked up some staging tips for exhibiting in the future and we very much hope we might be lucky enough to be invited back again next year to the Show.

What’s in the posies right now? Late summer flowers include asters, sunflowers, achillea, eryngium, sedum, alliums, roselilies and statice. This is a warm, late-summer mix that is hardy enough to combat the heatwaves. These stems hold their colour and shape in the hot weather, which is exactly what you want for a posy on a sunny kitchen table.

Why not bring a little of the show home! If you’d like a Gold-standard posy of your own, our posy subscription delivers British, seasonal, hand-tied flowers weekly, fortnightly or monthly, arriving hydrated so they’re fresh, not floppy, and ready arranged to display in the recycled-glass jar provided with your first order.

Thanks again to the RHS judges, to the New Forest Show, and to everyone who stopped by the tent to say hello. Mum and I are still slightly stunned, but already thinking about what we could do next year.
