What do roselilies look like?
Share
This exquisite double-petalled 'Anouska' roselily is grown in Lincolnshire and has a wonderful fragrance. The amount of colour on the petals can vary and is improved if they are left a little longer before harvesting and if they have a spell in the fridge.
We’ve also got homegrown pampas in the posies this week! This ornamental grass, native to South America, gives the arrangement an autumnal feel, alongside homegrown miscanthus grass, asters, statis, helichrysum, heather, and roselily from Lincolnshire. Pampas has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity and is easy to grow, but may not suit every garden as it needs a lot of space and has sharp leaves.
The weather has certainly taken a turn and the rain has been very welcome in bringing the lawn back to life. I have been enjoying walks in the New Forest with September colours from the purple heather and golden bracken. I hope you have the chance to get out and about too.
